Ave Maria University seeks applicants for full-time faculty to join our B.S.N. Program team. Qualified candidates will possess an active Florida RN license and recent experience teaching in a four-year BSN program. A Master of Science in Nursing is required; a Doctorate in Nursing is preferred. Applicants with clinical experience teaching Fundamentals, Health Assessment, Medical Surgical Nursing, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, OB, and Pediatrics are preferred. Simulation experience including scenario development and debriefing is highly desirable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain high energy level and ability to engage students to ensure an excellent student experience.
· Effectively facilitate learning and learner development, in the classroom, lab, clinical, and simulation settings.
· Facilitate active and ongoing classroom, clinical and simulation management.
· Contribute to the nursing program through participation in faculty meetings, professional development workshops and ongoing instructional meetings as required.
· Develop and revise curriculum and evaluate program outcomes.
· Engage in ongoing professional development and networking.
· Other duties as assigned.
Candidates Shall Possess:
• Excellent organizational, instructional, and clinical nursing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to effectively manage relationships with a variety of population groups, including students, technical support staff, administrators, faculty and external entities.
• Models professional nursing standards, collaboration, communication, academic excellence, and attendance.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in nursing, Doctoral degree in nursing preferred • Unrestricted licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, experience as a preceptor or educator preferred. • Experience in simulation and clinical skills instruction and debriefing desired.
• Certified provider in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. • Certified instructor in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical practice, quality improvement, patient safety initiatives and evidence-based care of multicultural populations.
