Food Service Worker – Part-Time

Saint Francis de Sales Seminary is home to Catholic priests, and seminarians who are preparing to serve as priests. We are seeking a part-time food service worker to cook meals for resident priests, seminarians, employees, benefactors, and friends with a servant heart and respect for the campus that is a peaceful, spiritual home for many.
The Food Service Worker will provide essential support to our kitchen and dining operations. This role requires a versatile and reliable individual who can adapt to varying shifts and responsibilities based on the needs of the seminary. Duties may include food preparation, serving meals, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently.
- Support meal service during peak times, special events, or as otherwise required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to seminarians, staff, and guests.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen environments preferred but not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and adaptability to changing needs.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to upholding the values and mission of the Catholic seminary.
Compensation: $13-$15 per hour based on experience; paid vacation and sick time.
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of a high school diploma, with additional coursework or certification in food service and sanitation safety, along with prior foodservice experience and a desire to serve. Must be able to work a flexible schedule with weekend and evening availability is required.
