GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Events Department Video Lead and Box Office Manager will function under the direction of the President, Principal, Vice-Principal, and Events Department Director of Xavier College Preparatory. This person will be involved with the daily functioning of the events department, producing video content on behalf of the school, and managing the performing arts box office. *Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Videography
- Keep all video equipment in good working order, creating storage systems and proposing future purchases as needed
- Create systems to ensure data integrity, backup, labeling and archiving
- Set up and break down recording equipment before and after use
- Capture important events using camera, lighting, and audio equipment
- Provide end to end management of video projects from initial concepts to final products
- Maintain production schedules of multiple projects
- Develop and foster good working relationships on campus in order to facilitate projects
- Assist with live streaming events via OBS and related technologies
- Maintain highest level of professionalism and integrity regarding the filming of minors

Box Office Duties
- Act as house manager for larger events held in the Performing Arts Center (PAC)
- Manage the box office for Xavier events held in the PAC, including theatre, dance, and choir concerts, and outside group events
- Schedule and train box office attendants
- Maintain box office documents, account deposits, financial records logs
- Other box office activities including musician contracts, comp tickets, and other show-related duties.
Other Duties
- Assist XCP faculty, staff and administration as needed in areas of event support as it relates to events and venues that the events department is responsible for.
- Abide by and enforce rules of respect and behavior on campus according to the guidelines set by XCP.
- Assist with basic setups of meetings in Founders Hall, including video, audio, and minor staging.
- Assist with the technical set-up and operation of XCP events. This includes events such as Mass, pep rallies, dances and other events.
- Performs all teaching duties as directed by administration.
Skill, Knowledge And Abilities
- Full knowledge of Video Cameras and related equipment
- Understanding of Audio equipment (wired/wireless microphones and audio recording equipment)
- Understanding of Video Lighting equipment (softboxes, key lights, ring lights etc.).
- Working knowledge of Video Editing software such as Adobe Suite, Davinci etc.
- Understanding of the dangers of facility equipment and adhesion to safety procedures.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, with potential overtime and odd hours.
- Ability to work as a team member, employing skills of communication, cooperation, and problem solving, and a general positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to take initiative and work effectively independently as well as with others while maintaining focus and motivation.
- General computer skills.
Qualifications
- 4 years experience video production and editing
- Experience working in a team setting, as well as track record of a proactive and flexible attitude.
- Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
- Bachelors in related field preferred.
Working Environment: Time Demands
- Flexible schedule, willingness to work odd hours, long hours, occasional overtime, and on weekends due to fluctuating schedules.
- 40 hour work week.
- 12 month position with 2 weeks of vacation time in off-season (summer).
- Manages and communicates time spent between classroom and events work.
Physical Demands
- Significant lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling and balancing.
- Physical agility and dexterity required.
- Working in potentially dangerous, hazardous conditions, often requiring heights or tight
spaces.
