Reports To: President of Catholic Schools
Position Overview: The Principal at St. Benedict at Auburndale in Cordova, TN is a dynamic and visionary leader responsible for fostering a culture of great faith in God in an environment that promotes academic excellence, spiritual growth, and stakeholder engagement. A practicing Catholic, the principal will help nurture a community of trust, respect, and mutual concern. by collaboratively implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the school’s appeal and stability. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated success in leading effective changes in school culture, organizational practices, and academic programs. The principal supervises the assistant principal, department chairs, faculty, staff, program directors, and coaches who work within the school’s academic and co-curricular programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Vision:
- Provide strong leadership that aligns with the Catholic values and mission of the school.
- Develop and implement an academic strategic plan to address
- Foster a positive school culture that supports student achievement and staff development.
- Academic Excellence:
- Oversee curriculum development and ensure it meets the educational needs and spiritual goals of the school.
- Monitor and evaluate academic programs to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Support professional development for teachers to enhance instructional practices.
- Community and Faith Engagement:
- Strengthen relationships with parish leaders, pastors, alumni, and local community to build support for the school.
- Promote and integrate Catholic teachings and values into all aspects of school life.
- Organize and participate in school and community events to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Operational Management:
- Manage the school’s budget, resources, and facilities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Collaborate with the school advisory board and other stakeholders to raise awareness
- Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Student Support and Well-being:
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that addresses the diverse needs of students.
- Implement and evaluate programs and services that promote student well-being, including counseling and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Valid administrative certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
- Strong commitment to our Catholic faith and a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse school community.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
