Brief Job Description: Mount Saint Mary Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school in Buffalo, NY, serving grades 9-12 is seeking a full-time Director of Finance and Operations. The Director of Finance and Operations, our top business professional, works closely with all members of the School’s leadership team, especially the Principal, Assistant Principal, the Director of Admissions, the Director of Institutional Advancement and the Director of Athletics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
● The Director of Finance and Operations, our top business professional, reports to the Principal and has responsibility for the fiscal and other non-academic aspects of school life, including the physical plant, information technology, health and safety and normal business activity such as purchasing and payroll. The Director also supervises the Finance Assistant, Technology
Specialist, and the buildings and grounds team. The Director prepares the annual budget in consultation with the Principal and the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
● The Director must have a strong background in finance and accounting. An advanced degree is preferred. The Director has expert knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and rules of
not-for-profit institutions.
Desired Skills:
● Familiarity with Quick Books, Google Suite for Education, knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and rules for non-profit organizations
● Collaboration is critical skill as Director will work with all departments at the school. Management skills is essential as the Director will oversee the maintenance team, technology
and food service, health and safety personnel.
Salary: $45,000- $65,000 based on experience
