Villa's Advancement team is growing! The Director of Marketing will create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing program that enhances the image and position of Villa. The director is tasked with developing short- and long-term plans (including budgets) for the marketing communications program and its activities, while monitoring its progress, ensuring compliance, and evaluating its performance. This position is administrative and 12 months.
Working in partnership with the president, principal, and the school community, the director will advance the marketing agenda. The position is housed in the Advancement office and will report directly to the Director of Advancement.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Manage the communications manager and external vendors related to creative, marketing, or social media tactics
Create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing communications program
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to develop a school-wide communications calendar that is responsive to communications needs of all constituents
Articulate Villa's desired image and position
Ensure consistent communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external
Act as the point of contact for media outlets
Serve as the brand manager; overseeing the appearance of all School print and electronic materials, such as brochures, letterhead, use of branding, etc.
Provide counsel to internal departments on marketing, communications, and public relations
Regularly conduct relevant marketing research
Coordinate and oversee implementation of market research conclusions
Monitor market trends
Develop and coordinate means to seek input from the School's key constituencies regarding the quality of programs and services and the School's overall relevance
Along with school administrators and the communications manager, develop a crisis communication plan and serve on the implementation team
Qualifications:
Experience working in an education or non-profit setting
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related program
5-7 years of experience in a professional marketing communication role
Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
A deep commitment to the mission and vision of Villa Joseph Marie
Strategic thinker and problem solver who understands how to create a comprehensive plan
Knowledge and experience with digital marketing, social media platforms and management tools
Experience with digital analytics, including Google Analytics
Experience managing or overseeing website management, including maintaining SEO-friendly content
Proven ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, targeting and optimizing content
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects based on the school's goals
Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with colleagues, administrators, Trustees, and stakeholders
Preferred but Not Required:
1-2 years management experience
Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. Finalsite)
Experience with CRM software (e.g. Raiser's Edge NXT)
