GENERAL INTRODUCTION:
The Archbishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ’s mission present and enduring as Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Archbishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. (Directory on the Pastoral Ministry of Bishops, 198)
Each position employed in the Chancery helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:
To provide support for the care and welfare of the camp horses.
Essential Position Duties All Specialists
- Feeds the horses including hay and grain.
- Cleans and fills water troughs
- Monitors horses for changes in behavior and condition and notifies the Equestrian Coordinator of issues.
- Checks gates and fences for damage and does minor repairs.
- Supervises weekend volunteers
- Assigning tasks
- Monitors volunteers to keep them safe working around the ranch.
- Orients any new volunteers
- Assists with catching horses for lessons and tacking.
- Enforce camp rules and emergency procedures as needed
- Maintains cleanliness of the ranch.
Essential Qualifications
- Primary:
- Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
- Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church.
- A good example for youth in appearance, attitudes, as well as in moral, ethical and spiritual behavior.
- Education:
- HS Diploma or significant qualifying experience.
- Experience:
- Experience working with horses.
- Other Elements:
- Commitment to the mission and values of CYO.
- Strong communication skills, verbal.
- Ability to pass provided CPR/First aid training course.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
