Position: Onsite Temporary Camp Staff
Location: Carnation, WA
Duration: June 19, 2025, to August 15, 2025
General Introduction
Each position employed with CYO Camps helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.
General Summary Of Essential Purpose
To assist the Camp Nurse or Physician during a camp session; work with camp director and staff; and help provide adequate physical health conditions for campers and staff.
Essential Position Duties
- Ensure each staff member and camper has on file a heath history form, as required.
- Help Health screen upon arrival-campers and staff
- Conduct inventory of supplies and report needs to the camp director ensuring timely arrival of supplies.
- Follow appropriate medical routines including record keeping in the daily medical log, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications, and utilizing approved standing orders under the direction of the camp nurse.
- Check and issue first-aid kits.
- Keep accident/incident reports.
- Monitor health of campers.
- Respond and assess emergency situations with the help of the camp director team.
- Maintain a clean and organized camp environment, including, but not limited to performing regular cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring all facilities comply with health and safety standards.
Essential Qualifications
- Primary:
- Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
- Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church.
- A good example for youth in appearance, attitudes, as well as in moral, ethical and spiritual behavior.
- Education:
- Nursing Student, CNA, EMT, MA, WFA. Additional trainings can be approved by Camp Physicians
- Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with parents or clients.
- Demonstrated understanding of youth development and child behavior management.
- Previous experience working with diverse populations.
- Previous experience working in related medical field is preferred.
- Other Elements:
- Commitment to the mission and values of CYO.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable with public speaking.
- Must be able to pass provided CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and live on site in rustic facilities while programs are in session.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
