Oversee the Parish Assistance Program, Volunteer Program and Foundational Grant Development
SUMMARY: This position will work with the Executive Director and other program supervisors throughout the six counties served by Catholic Charities to administer the Parish Assistance Program for the Diocese of Camden. Approximately, 60% of the time will be devoted to parish support, 30% to the development of a robust volunteer program, and 10% to identifying foundational grants and other funding opportunities that will increase unrestricted monies available to the agency.

Parish Assistant Support Program
The Parish Assistance Program was designed so clergy and parish staff have a direct line to Catholic Charities for parishioners in need.
- Promote the Parishioner Support Program through parish presentations, pastor visits, parish communications, etc.
- Field parishioner support inquiries/referrals and direct them to the appropriate county representative
- Assist case workers in completing requests for financial support to ensure efficient and appropriate distribution of funds
- Closely monitor all financial assistance distributed on behalf of parishioners from public and private donations and prepare regular reports tracking these disbursements
Volunteer Coordination
Catholic Charites is ready to grow our volunteer opportunities and internship program that will operate in all six counties of our service areas.
- Assist program supervisors in the identification of short, intermittent, and regular volunteer opportunities within their programs, and assist them in preparing to adequately orient and monitor these volunteers
- Establish or modify job descriptions that outline the functions volunteers will assume
- Recruit potential volunteers through various communication outlets and provide onboarding activities and training to assist them in assuming their new roles
- Produce reports that, at a minimum, reflect the number of volunteers within the agency, the number of hours of service provided, and the types of activities performed by these volunteers
- Serve as the liaison between educational institutions and Catholic Charities in organizing internship opportunities for students
- Organize group volunteer programs and activities as appropriate for Catholic Charities and participants
Grant Development
There are thousands of private foundations and organizations that offer funding opportunities that can help Catholic Charities provide services and programs for our clients in South Jersey.
- Research grant opportunities offered by private foundations and organizations
- Develop a matrix that helps to determine whether potential grant opportunities are a good fit with agency mission
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and program supervisors to determine whether to apply for a funding oppo1iunity and in the development of the scope of services for each grant
Experience/Education
- Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years plus experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience in non-profit or social services field preferred.
- Experience in Parish service, volunteer coordinator, and grant development preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
