Duties include:
• managing the operations of the Cafe + Market according to ministry values, leading a team that includes a Chef & Kitchen Manager, Market Manager, Inventory Manager, barista/cook staff, marketing staff, and volunteers;
• strategic planning, implementation, and growth for the Trinity House lifestyle brand, including a comprehensive marketing plan, in collaboration with Directors, Market Manager, and marketing staff;
• budgeting, accounts payable, controlling costs, and increasing revenue for the Cafe + Market.
The successful candidate will ensure an enthusiastic and growing customer base; a mission-oriented, well-trained and motivated staff; strong vendor relationships; well-prepared and presented products; a compelling marketing presence; a clean, organized, well-stocked and well-maintained facility; legal compliance, controlled costs, and increasing revenue.
This is a 40-hour/week position, predominantly on site with some remote work opportunity. Candidates should have availability on some Saturdays and experience in food and coffee service, marketing, and finance. Ministry experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
-Setting a servant-leadership and missional tone for staff, in alignment with Trinity House Community's mission, values, and "welcome, listen, serve" approach;
-Oversight of Cafe + Market staff and operations; staff reviews; regular meetings with non-profit Directors;
-Strategic planning, implementation, and growth of Trinity House lifestyle brand, including a comprehensive marketing plan, both digital and print;
-Budgeting, accounts payable, communicating with non-profit Business Manager for payroll and accounting, controlling costs, increasing revenue;
-Hiring, onboarding, training, certifications, and staff meetings for Cafe + Market;
-Ensure compliance with VA Health Code and Alcoholic Beverage Commission regulations;
-Maintain weekly staff schedule, approve timesheets;
-Cover cafe shifts when needed;
-Lead staff in giving superior customer service; improve speed of service;
-Oversight of Chef & Kitchen Manager and staff for production of quality food and drinks;
-Keep up with coffee and tea industry standards and incorporate into staff training;
-Oversight of staff to create seasonal offerings and menu updates;
-Oversight of Market Manager and inventory in collaboration with Directors;
-Oversight of staff for clean and well-organized facility;
-Oversight of inventory ordering and stocking, some ordering, maintain strong vendor relationships;
-Perform routine maintenance of equipment and facility;
-Keep Square, inventory lists, recipe books and cards, shift lists, menu boards, signage up to date;
-Keep cash drawer balanced and supplied with change, make cash deposits, keep tip records.
