St. Bernadette School, a 2023 Blue Ribbon School in Westlake, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated and engaging 7th and 8th Grade Math Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Mathematics Education, a commitment to rigorous math instruction, and the ability to form meaningful relationships with students, inspiring them in their study of Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry within a supportive Catholic school setting.
Key Responsibilities: •Deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry to prepare students for high school mathematics. •Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning math. •Form supportive and respectful relationships with students to promote both academic and personal development. •Utilize diverse teaching strategies to meet the varied learning needs of students. •Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. •Collaborate with faculty and communicate effectively with parents to support student achievement.
Job Requirements: •Bachelor’s degree in 7-12 Mathematics Education or 4-9 Mathematics. •Valid Ohio teaching license or Resident Educator (RE) license. •Ability to pass an FBI/BCI background check. •Commitment to the teachings, traditions, and best practices in Catholic education, with familiarity in guiding the formation of middle school-aged youth. •VIRTUS certification or willingness to obtain certification.
