The program is structured to allow time for play, homework, snack and even the occasional movie time!
The extended day program is a vital part of our school community, providing a structured and safe environment for our students beyond school hours. St. Joseph Catholic School is searching for a warm, caring, dedicated after-school caregiver to join our Extended Day team. The Extended Day Worker will report to the Extended Day Supervisor and School Assistant Principals.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment.
- Take daily student attendance and help with homework if needed.
- Ensure student understanding of program rules and procedures. Assist in resolving student disputes; refer serious discipline problems to the principal.
- Lead a daily schedule for children to follow, including snacks, homework time, outdoor play, and indoor activities.
- Organize, facilitate, and monitor the activities of children enrolled in their assigned areas.
- Monitor and interact with students to keep students engaged in creative, artistic, and physical activities.
- Monitor students while outside in the playground areas, weather permitting.
- Communicate with parents, as needed, regarding any issues that arise during the aftercare time.
- Participate in staff meetings, update, and participate in training as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Extended Day Supervisor or Principal
