POSITION DETAILS The Community Engagement and Volunteer Impact Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA Member will work closely with the Catholic Charities Volunteer Coordinator, Regional Director, and Refugee Resettlement Director to recruit, train, supervise, and retain volunteers.
Primary Functions include:
Develop targeted outreach strategies to attract and engage a diverse group of volunteers.
Expand volunteer participation in supporting refugee families through mentorship and cultural exchange programs.
Lead efforts to recruit, onboard, train, and manage volunteers.
Identify grant opportunities to strengthen program sustainability and effectiveness.
Measure stakeholder engagement and satisfaction to guide program improvements. Organize community events and deliver presentations showcasing agency services.
Collaborate on social media campaigns to promote volunteer opportunities and share success stories.
Partner with local organizations for donation drives and community initiatives.
Establish metrics and evaluation tools to assess the impact of community engagement.
Build partnerships for mentorship and cultural exchange events.
Create outreach materials to boost volunteer recruitment and engagement.
Improve volunteer training programs and feedback mechanisms to enhance the overall volunteer experience. Collaborate with other AmeriCorps members on volunteer recruitment strategies.
Represent Catholic Charities at various community events

Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple varied projects with specificity to detail, protocols, and professionalism.
Superb written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations with all levels of staff, board of directors, committee members, partners, both new and existing and other key community stakeholders.
Reliable transportation and ability to work on outdoor projects when necessary.
Ability to work outside standard hours as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends. AmeriCorps Skills and Qualifications

Ability to support planning, development, and establishment of new and established programs effectively and efficiently.

Understanding of grant compliance.
Able to serve full-time at a rate of 37.5 hours a week.
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 21 years old
Have a college degree
Have written and spoken proficiency in English
Have computer skills
A valid driver's license and car insurance
Compensation

AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a stipend of $957.46 bi-weekly and an education award of or a cash stipend upon completion of service.
AmeriCorps members serve 1-year, full-time terms of service, with personal leave and sick days as determined by AmeriCorps and Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte.
AmeriCorps members serving with the VISTA program have two healthcare benefit options: one for members who already have health insurance coverage at the start of service and the other for those who do not.
Mileage reimbursement at the state rate for program-related travel.
AmeriCorps offers relocation travel assistance and a settling-in allowance if you are moving more than 50 miles from your home to serve as an AmeriCorps member with the VISTA program. Application

Once a candidate has been selected, they will have to complete the AmeriCorps application process, including the completion of a background check.
Once the AmeriCorps application process has been completed, an official offer of employment from AmeriCorps will be made.
The AmeriCorps VISTA will complete training both internally with Catholic Charities and externally with AmeriCorps upon beginning the service term.
