Saint Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) has been providing quality therapeutic services to youth for over 30 years and is currently accepting applications for an Overnight Care Worker for children and adolescents. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Monitor the houses and clients during the late evening and morning hours.
- Ensure the safety and security of the children during the night and performing safety room checks throughout the evening.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the organization.
- Notify the house parents, director, on-call staff, or emergency rescue if there is an emergency.
- Wake up children as per their schedule or program.
- Maintain accurate records and written documentation of all work activities in the manner prescribed by the Program Director and the policies and procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping and laundry tasks.
- Report facility or grounds maintenance needs to the Operations Manager to assure the safety of the clients.
- Instruct children in personal hygiene habits and oversee the physical health of the children.
- Dispense items such as toiletries, clothing, linens, etc. as required.
- Participate in all referral interviews and new intakes as needed.
- Transport children to any appointments, medical or otherwise, to school as needed, and any other place as prescribed by the individual treatment plan.
- Remain awake throughout the entire shift.
- Keep up to date on current regulations and procedures regarding infection control and the prevention of disease via blood-borne pathogens by attending facility in-service trainings.
WHAT WE VALUE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in providing therapeutic mental health and/or substance use services
- A valid Florida drivers license
- A history free of offenses as listed on the Affidavit of Good Moral Character
- Must be able to pass an extensive background screening and reference check
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
- Positive, professional manner to the children and other agency personnel
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Be a passionate role model and remain a positive mentor for children
