Brief Job Description: The STREAM Consultant is responsible for the overall design, implementation, and evaluation of professional development for elementary schools in the Diocese of Buffalo, supporting the STREAM initiative (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). The consultant will collaborate with high schools, colleges, alumni, and community organizations to provide opportunities for hands-on STREAM-related activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Content Area Curriculum Mapping:
• Assist with curriculum mapping teams
X-STREAM Games:
• Emails to STREAM coordinators
• STREAM newsletter
• Website updates
• Event planning
• Event coordination (in person on March 8)
STREAM Coordinators:
• In-person meeting in September
• Virtual meeting in December
• In-person meeting in February to finalize plans for the X-STREAM Games
• Virtual meeting in April to debrief the X-STREAM Games
Professional Development:
• Assist with coordinating Diocesan and Regional Professional development based on Diocesan goals and individual school needs
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching
• Minimum of 2 years in professional development/curriculum design
• Practicing Catholic (preferred)
Desired Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of research-based best practices
• Understanding of NYS standards, assessment, and curriculum development
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of STREAM resources available in Western New York
• Understanding of the science and art of teaching
• Ability to travel throughout the Diocese of Buffalo
Salary: Starting at $24 per hour, 15-20 hours per week.
