Position Overview:
Cardinal O’Hara High School is seeking a mature, driven, and creative professional to lead our communications and event efforts. Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions and Marketing, this person is charged with communicating the school’s philosophy, mission, accomplishments, and needs to its various constituents, both internal and external.
The primary responsibilities of this position are the management and implementation of all digital marketing/communications efforts, including website updates and maintenance, managing the creation of all print and electronic material for development and enrollment, and managing all media relations and publicity efforts. The candidate must create and produce robust social media posts across numerous platforms with an emphasis to reach maximum engagement; the candidate must understand social media algorithms and regularly generate on-brand posts with an interest in discovering not only planned events, but unique and spontaneous moments with an aim to grow social media and digital engagement. Additionally, this person will manage the event planning process for all Advancement and Admissions events.
This person must have strong writing skills and be proficient in social media marketing. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Responsibilities
· Works with the marketing director to create an annual Marketing/Communications Plan that includes all aspects of outreach for O’Hara.
· Works with all necessary internal constituents to create an annual production calendar that outlines all known upcoming projects for the year, in coordination with the overall Marketing/Communications plan.
· Serves as O’Hara’s webmaster and manages all electronic communications and social media efforts. Provides data and analytics on all digital efforts.
· Oversees, along with the social media intern, the creation of the weekly O’Hara Happenings and also the monthly Alumni newsletter.
· Designs all event invitations.
· Leads in the planning and operations for all events.
· Creates all marketing collateral for Admissions and Alumni Relations and assist with Development collateral as needed.
· Creates all online solicitations, registration forms, and tracking efforts.
· Works with the President and Principal on the immediate release of all priority news updates and other matters of concern to the O’Hara community.
· Conducts media campaigns around news-worthy O’Hara accomplishments and happenings.
· Manages marketing-related vendors as well as interns and freelancers.
· Attends and takes photos at school events for immediate use on social media, as well as use in future collateral materials.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· Excellent written and oral communications skills
· Strong organizational skills, work efficiently and independently, juggle tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and diverse environment
· Past supervisory experience
· Ability to work productively and positively with staff, board, and alumni
