Dean of Students

We are seeking an individual to assist our principal with administrative responsibilities related to student affairs. Hours and salary will be dependent on experience

Leadership

· Consistently model the school’s core values; be a visible and highly engaged leader in the school community

· Shall be responsible for all aspects of the school in the absence of the principal

Parent/Family

· Proactively manage relationships with parents

· Serve as a liaison to parents and act as a point of contact regarding questions or concerns

· Work to strengthen student and family engagement in education

· Oversee the activities of the Home and School Association, attending events as needed

Communication

· Promotes school activities and achievements

· Assist in the marketing, communication, and advancement activities of the school

· Provide regular and necessary updates to families

Student Life

· Assist with the development and administration of disciplinary procedures

· Support the Principal in Guidance Department oversight and the high school application process

Operations

· Assist as needed with daily operations of the school

· Manage recruiting and scheduling of instructional substitutes

· Act as a member of emergency command during crises and serve as the primary point of contact in developing and communicating emergency protocols

· Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures

· Support the Principal with the planning, organizing, and supervision of school activities

· Provide supervision at extra-curricular and athletic events as needed

· Provides/oversees requisitions and allocates instructional material as needed

Requirements/Skills

Bachelor’s Degree with leadership experience, or Master’s, with an education focus and teaching credential preferred

Five (5) years of instructional experience

Leadership and Management

Abides by and enforces policies set forth by the Diocese of Metuchen, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, and the School of Saint Elizabeth

Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics

Technical Skills
Proficient in Google and Microsoft Word, Excel, and other educational-related technology software

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
