Job Description
Canyon Heights Academy, located in Campbell, CA, seeks two Extended Daycare Teachers in our Early Childhood Programs — one for our 18-36 month olds and the other for our Preschool and Kindergarten.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have 12 units in early childhood education
Minimum age of 18
Prior experience working with children in an organized program
Must have knowledge of children’s developmental stages and activities that are appropriate for grade level.
Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and the program.
Has the ability to interact well with others in a professional environment.
Proof of medical/TB exam
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Working with the Early Childhood Program Director to implement engaging, developmentally appropriate enrichment activities which expand and support student learning experiences beyond the classroom
Observing, monitoring, and participating in children’s play activities
Building positive relationships with parents, students and school personnel
Overseeing homework (kinder only) and guiding children as necessary
Demonstrating cooperation, flexibility and teamwork
Maintaining a safe, conducive environment for children inside and outside
Being aware of ratio requirements and monitor to stay within the childcare licensing stipulations for teacher to student ratios
Instructing children in the practice of cleanliness and self care
Documenting incidents of injury, health or behavior issues
Keeping materials inventoried, organized and put away when finished
Performing assigned housekeeping duties daily
Preparing snacks
Implementing program procedures effectively to ensure the safe being of all participants
Enjoying being with students and foster their spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical development through the duties outlined above
Salary Range: $25-30 per hour based on Education and Experience.
