Overview:
Catholic Charities Agency Diocese of Springfield is based in Springfield, Massachusetts and serves all four counties of western Massachusetts. We are committed to addressing mental health services, food insecurity, shelter and housing, and assisting migrants and refugees. Services provided include housing, street outreach, case support, fuel assistance, employment and workforce training coordination, ESOL and education courses, and drop- in services. Grant funding for this position is currently approved through December 2025.
Under the direction of the supervisor/executive director, the licensed social workeris part of the senior leadership team of Catholic Charities, is compliant with agency policy and procedures and participates in agency meetings.
- Performs initial interviews, crisis interventions, and ongoing wrap around services as indicated.
- Adheres to all standards of contract compliance, audit readiness, and all other regulatory requirements. The Licensed Social Worker will ensure all staff is compliant as well.
- ensures that referrals are made to appropriate internal and external services as required to meet the needs of client families.
- participates in in-service trainings, workshops, and conferences, as advised or requested.
- directly supervises the Lead Case Manager and all case workers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide culturally-appropriate, linguistically-appropriate, trauma-informed, respectful case management services to clients and families.
- Develop self-sufficiency plans and timelines in partnership with each client. Provide individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
- Assess and monitor client progress to support their attainment of established goals, address challenges, and to ensure that available resources are utilized.
- Detail each client interaction accurately, completely, confidentially, and in accordance with program requirements. Input client information in database(s) and files and assist with tracking and reporting as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: needed to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:
One year of related experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to handle situations with diplomacy.
- Ability to effectively interpret between English and above-mentioned languages.

- Basic computer and MS Office skills.
- Ability to work sensitively and effectively with in a multi-cultural/multi lingual environment.

- Excellent organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license, positive driving record, and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Ability to work within the mission of the organization.
Required Minimum Education and Experience:
- Must hold a master’s degree (MA LICSW) in social work.
- Must have clinical practicum or field experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly desired.
Physical Demands:
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or listen.
- Required to sit for long periods of time.
- Infrequent light physical effort required.
- Require driving own or company vehicle to various sites.
- Ability to do detailed work with high degree of concentration.
- Ability to work under stress or in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
This position requires the employee to work in an environment consistent with an office function.
