Responsibilities:
- Serving as staff mentor for aspects of new staff orientation
- Monitoring safety & well-being of residents
- Planning social & recreational activities for residents
- Maintaining and applying current & complete knowledge of emergency procedures in event of a crisis, e.g., fire safety
- Preparing all required documentation prior to end of shift, reporting all issues/concerns to Residence Manager and/or Assistant Manager
- Performing all essential functions of the Direct Support Professional role, as directed or needed
Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED
- Previous experience working with developmentally disabled adults is strongly preferred.
- Clean, valid NYS Driver’s License
- Ability to transfer and assist in 2-person lift of persons weighing as much as 250 lbs.
- Ability to maintain current certifications, up-to-date knowledge of regulatory compliance, agency policies, protocols & evolving operational practices, and attendance at all required in-service trainings
- A desire to provide/facilitate “person-centered” care to all residents;
- Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively & effectively with individuals, Residential Managers, fellow team members, families and community members.
Schedule: 40 hours per week; 2-10p, Tues. - Sat.
This rate of pay serves as a good faith estimate. Actual pay is based on a number of factors which may include a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and work location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation, such as the value of benefits, which may be applicable to this position.
