We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal and Risk Management Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the legal and risk management functions by ensuring compliance with laws, managing legal documentation, and identifying and mitigating risks across the organization. This role will work closely with various departments, external legal counsel, and senior management to ensure legal and risk-related matters are addressed efficiently and effectively.

The position will work within the newly created Parish Business Services team in the day to day HR support services to a group parishes and schools, building developing strong client relationships with our parish clients. You will serve alongside a team of Parish Business Services team members to provide world class shared mission support services to our parish clients. Additionally, you will work in an agile work environment, working in conjunction with the HR team at the Pastoral Center to ensure your you have the training, resources, and support to successfully HR services for your parish clients. This exciting new role will work directly with the Manager of Parish Business Services and HR Manager as we build a missional curia in the Catholic Church in America in an apostolic age.

Key Job Responsibilities (and KPIs for each: what success looks like in this role):
Legal Support:
·Assist in reviewing and organizing legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and policies.
· Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, compliance, and other legal matters.
· Maintain an organized and up-to-date legal document database.
· Support in preparing reports and presentations related to legal issues for senior management.
Risk Management:
· Identify potential risks to the organization and assist in developing risk management strategies.
· Support the implementation and maintenance of risk management policies and procedures.
· Assist in conducting risk assessments and audits to evaluate the organization's exposure to legal and operational risks.
· Coordinate with various departments and AoD entities to ensure risk mitigation strategies are effectively applied.
· Track and report on risk management activities and outcomes.
· Assist in managing insurance claims, incident reports, and regulatory filings.
Compliance & Regulatory Support:
· Ensure the organization adheres to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Monitor compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and business regulations.
· Responds to parish administrators’ questions regarding parish/school compliance requirements and records
· Responds to trainee requests for initial training, duplicate certificates, refresher training requirements and cross-diocese training reciprocity.
· Supports collection of data reports from parishes, schools, seminaries and other Archdiocesan offices and other Ecclesiastical Organizations to fulfill the reporting requirements for the annual USCCB audit.
Administrative Support:
· Provide administrative support to the legal, risk management, and safe environment teams, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.
· Manage the budget for legal and risk management services, including tracking expenses and processing invoices.
· Monitors the Risk Management and Office of Minor and At-Risk Adult web page for outdated information
Programmatic Support
· Oversees facilitator record keeping to ensure proper recording of Safe Environment classes and participant attendance.
· Supervises maintenance and document retention of training documentation.
· Assists with updates to relevant knowledge base pages regarding Safe Environment requirements.
· Maintains the overall vision of the Promise to Protect and the Pledge to Heal.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
·Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
·2-4 years of experience in legal coordination, compliance, or risk management, preferably within a corporate or legal environment.
·Strong knowledge of legal terminology, compliance standards, and risk management processes.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
·Familiarity with contract management software and legal research tools is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires ability to sit for extended periods.
- Standing walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, and squatting also will be required as necessary to perform the duties of the position
- This position requires some local travel to parishes in and around the front range of Colorado so must have valid driver's license with ability to travel by car up to several days per week
