Saint Joseph School, a vibrant Catholic school community, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Instructor to teach students ranging from 3-year-olds to Grade 8. Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Development & Instruction:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education curriculum for students ages 3 through Grade 8.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring all activities are safe and inclusive.
Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
- Assess and document students' physical abilities, skills, and progress throughout the year.
- Provide regular feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding students' achievements and areas for improvement.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment in the gymnasium, playground, or other designated areas.
- Implement appropriate behavior management strategies to ensure students are engaged and cooperative during activities.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with other faculty members, particularly homeroom teachers, to integrate physical education with other areas of the curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their childs progress, upcoming events, and any relevant concerns.
Extracurricular Activities:
- Organize and supervise extracurricular sports teams, clubs, or events, such as field days, interscholastic sports, or fitness challenges.
- Encourage students to participate in school-wide and community physical activity events.
Health & Wellness Promotion:
- Advocate for and promote a healthy and active lifestyle among all students.
- Teach students the importance of physical fitness, nutrition, and personal health as part of their overall development.
Faith Integration:
- Uphold and model the values of the Catholic faith in all interactions with students, staff, and the broader school community.
- Incorporate Catholic teachings into physical education lessons when appropriate, emphasizing the connection between physical health and spiritual well-being.
