Position: Catholic Cemeteries Field Worker
Overall Responsibility:
The Catholic Cemeteries Field Worker participates in openings and closings for interments, entombments, inurnments and disinterment as well as the installation of memorials and markers. Performs grounds and facilities maintenance keeping the cemetery grounds appropriately maintained at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs openings & closings for burials, entombments and inurnments
- Sets, installs, and assembles foundations, memorials, and markers
- Handles and completes work orders from client families as it pertains to individual grave and marker maintenance
- Performs all grounds work, including but not limited to landscaping, maintenance, private estate care, and mausoleum care
- Fills grave, tamps, seeds or sods
- Performs seasonal grounds keeping including ice and snow removal
- Performs general Maintenance
- Adheres to all Company safety rules and Universal Precautions
- Performs all responsibilities in a ministerial capacity, with demonstrated compassion, empathy and understanding for those grieving, attending funerals and visiting graves
- Works collaboratively with cemetery staff in all cemetery operations
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends; and in inclement weather
- Wears assigned uniform to work at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Pay rate starts at $18.50 per hour. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and the option to contribute to a 403B. There are 11 paid holidays plus 2 weeks of vacation to start.
