General Purpose: The Facilities Assistant is responsible for the maintenance of the Church's many properties as well as assisting in the renovation and completion of projects for the facilities. This position is available for both full-time and part-time candidates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance:
Upkeep of grounds which includes mowing of lawns, trimming of bushes and general landscaping needs
General maintenance of physical structures that do not require a licensed professional
Assisting with snow removal
Cleaning of the interior of the Church and other facilities
Trash removal
Routine maintenance of the Church's properties
Cleaning graffiti or other extraordinary forms of vandalism
Set-up for events
Settling emergency facility situations, ie: broken pipes, power outages, gas leaks, fires
Works with Director of Maintenance to ensure all interior and exterior lighting is in proper working order
Assists in monitoring and reporting unauthorized parking on church property to the Director of
Maintenance
Works with Director of Maintenance to ensure orderliness and safety of storage areas
Assists with deep-cleaning of facilities as needed
Attends all required training courses
Removal of debris from Catholic Center moat or other extraordinary forms of trash
Projects:
Renovation of the Church's rental properties
Refurbishing the Pastoral Center
Fixing the doors and windows on the Church
Completing outstanding projects in the Student Center and other properties
Any other projects or maintenance required by the Director of Maintenance or Pastor
Experience and Requirements: Qualified applicants will have at least a high school diploma, maintenance experience and professional skills needed for renovations. This candidate must have working knowledge and experience in using cleaning solutions, cleaning equipment, power tools and yard maintenance equipment. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be in good physical condition.
Qualifications: Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work, refrain from public promotion or approval of any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with the Catholic doctrine or morals.
