Position: Operational Vitality Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, the Operational Vitality Coordinator provides support to pastors, principals, school finance personnel, and school councils in the areas of financial analysis, management, and strategic planning. This position will assist campus leaders in maintaining sound business practices and school operations. The Operational Vitality Coordinator will make recommendations to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools to improve financial and administrative resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provides Superintendent with long range strategic forecasting of enrollment growth, status of campus facilities and budget control to assist in promoting operational vitality of schools
● Assist principals and school councils of the diocesan schools in budget preparation, financial management/analysis and best business practices and processes.
● Collaborates with the Diocesan Business Office as needed.
● Provides Budget Literacy for Principals and bookkeepers
A. Budget exercise (Optimistic, Realistic and Pessimistic)
B. Professional development sessions for school leaders and bookkeepers
throughout the year
● Individualized school budget forecasting
A. Based on enrollment and fundraising
● Implement procedures and policies on expenditures (approvals)
● Build individualized financial aid models for each school
● Build an individualized tuition negotiation model for each school
● Serve as Financial Auditor for all parish schools
● Serve as an Ex- Officio on school advisory/consultative boards
● Advise on yearly tuition increases
● Create a 3-tier financial guidance model
A. Tier 1 - financially healthy schools - minimum oversight
B. Tier 2- schools who need moderate oversight
C. Tier 3 - intensive oversight of schools financially struggling
● Assist in the creation and execution of school site marketing plans
● Other duties and projects as assigned

● Proficient in use of core Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook, along with Adobe Acrobat and office equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
3 years minimum school finance experience and/or
Minimum BA in Business or Finance (MBA Preferred)

Occasionally they may climb stairs, step ladders, ascend/descend a step ladder. Employees must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch to position self to maintain files from filing cabinets, etc. Employees must be able to carry, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry, lift, and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of an office with computers and printers. A company fleet vehicle is available if needed for this position. Mileage reimbursement is available for use of personal car for diocesan business.
This position is for full-time employment, averaging 40 hours per week. Working hours: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rest breaks (15 minutes): 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Lunch Hour: 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Overtime will be occasional with prior authorization.
