School Mission
Through Jesus Christ, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School calls young men and
women to embrace their God-given gifts in order to Know Truth, Love God and Serve Others as His brave and humble disciples.
Position
The Marketing & Communications coordinator develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates
marketing communications strategy, including advertising, promotions, and public relations to
maximize positive exposure and support the marketing objectives and school mission. Means of
delivering this message can be through working with media, press releases, social media,
website, and newsletters including internal and external communications.
- Job Responsibilities
- Communications & Marketing responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the President, Director of Development, and Director of Admissions in developing communication plans and strategies for outreach to St. Michael community and wider community.
- Develop and foster partnerships with parishes, schools and Diocese to ensure St. Michael the Archangel visibility to include weekly communication to area Catholic parishes and grade schools.
- Create and distribute videos and newsletters as needed for recruitment, auction, hype for activities, donors, retreats or messages from the President or Principal.
- Assist with direct mail campaigns as needed.
- Website management. Create, design, update pages on the St. Michael the Archangel website. Also create online forms for event registration, purchases or payments of products or events as needed.
- Manage social media accounts. Create and post photos and videos to market all areas of St. Michael the Archangel on the main social media accounts of Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn on a daily basis.
- Submit press releases to local newspapers, magazines, online news links.
- Collaborate and provide marketing and advertising support to the President, Principal, Director of Admissions, Director of Development and Activities Director as needed.
- Develop and implement a plan for alumni communications.
- Work with graphic designer to build inventory of marketing materials for distribution to prospective students, churches and businesses.
- Continue to improve and establish new ways for St. Michael the Archangel to be recognized in the community as a top school in the KC area through magazines, reviews, association awards and other publications
- Assist Director of Development in creating Annual Report
- Attend and provide analytic report for the Board of Trustees meeting every other month
- Give tours of the school as needed
- Attend and provide reports at weekly Advancement and Leadership meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the President

- The person must be able to embrace, support and live out the faith-based mission of the school
- Able to work in a Mac-based computer environment
- Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
Google drive applications, such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Skillset in content management systems and desktop publishing applications such as: Constant Contact, Canva, WordPress, etc
Social Media posting and data analysis (Facebook, Instagram, X & LinkedIn)
Website updates and web analytic reports
Photography and videography - intermediate level skills preferred
Video editing skills with such programs as Final Cut or Premiere - intermediate level
skills preferred
Excellent grammar and editing skills for creating news releases, newsletters and other
written communications
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends depending upon events
Ability to work with all St. Michael the Archangel employees to promote academics, faith,
community, service, leadership, athletics and activities
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - BA/BS required; MA/MBA or related Masters preferred; 5+ years’ experience in
communications, marketing, or another related field also preferred.
