Located just a few short minutes from the Georgia border, Our Lady of Peace Catholic School is a Pre-K4 through 8th grade elementary school in North Augusta, SC. The school provides an excellent Catholic education to the diverse population of both Our Lady of Peace Parish and St. Edward the Confessor Parish.
Position Summary: The principal of a Catholic Elementary School is the spiritual and educational leader of the Catholic school and all its members including faculty, staff, and students. The principal is primarily responsible for serving as a faithful Catholic witness who will collaborate with Catholic educators to uphold the mission, philosophy, and objectives of a Catholic school. The principal will act as a liaison between parents and faculty and students, in order to promote the Faith through education and example.

Essential Job Functions:
· Encourage Catholic identity by upholding the philosophy of Catholic education, establishing celebrations throughout the liturgical year, implementing effective Faith Formation curriculum, and offer opportunities of service to the community.
· Model the teachings of the Catholic Church through daily prayer and frequenting the sacraments
· Adherence to the teaching of the Catholic Church and policies of the Diocese of Charleston
· Ability to identify areas that need improvement and effectively implement a plan of action
· Create opportunities for professional development in areas of both Faith and instruction
· Integrate the communities of the parish and the school to strengthen the Catholic Community in N. Augusta
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
· Experience in school administration
· Attract and retain dynamic Catholic teachers
· Manage faculty evaluations
· Lead fundraising efforts
· Oversee the daily functions of the school and offer support where needed
Education Requirements/Position Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree or equivalent administrative experience
· Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
· Experience teaching in a classroom
· Experience in enrollment advancement efforts
· Excellent communication skills with faculty, staff, students, and families
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: This position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, using feet, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, reaching above shoulders, and tasting/smelling at least 1/3 of the time. This position requires that you will lift up to 10 pounds at least 1/3 of the time.
