St. Catherine of Siena Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school in Wixom, Michigan. Our mission is to transform the culture by inspiring young women to discover and develop their feminine genius--their unique dignity, identity, and gifts as women created in the image of God.
St. Catherine of Siena Academy is currently seeking a Director of Admissions. This position maintains healthy enrollment at St. Catherine of Siena Academy (SCA) through development and execution of a student recruitment/retention plan that results in annually enrolling the optimal number of students. The Director will work closely with the Leadership Team, President, and Principal in the promotion and marketing of SCA, ensuring cohesive messaging in the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of all students.
Responsibilities:
OUTREACH AND MARKETING
- Direct student recruitment efforts that result in meeting targeted goals for enrolled students
- Coordinate and execute student recruitment and outreach events including open houses, presentations to large groups, sporting events, pizza lunches, school tours, shadow days and summer camps
- Participate in local community events and high school fairs (i.e., Archdiocese of Detroit and Diocese of Lansing grade schools/parishes)
- Expand reach to prospective students and create new and innovative ways to showcase SCA
- Organize and oversee the student peer shadowing program to promote SCA
- Work in collaboration with SCA’s marketing team to create admissions materials for recruitment and outreach events
- Promote and organize the administration of the High School Placement Test for test dates throughout the year
- Manage and update admissions web content and forms
INTRODUCTION OF PROSPECTIVE PARENTS
- Remain contact person for parents throughout inquiry and admissions process
- Give initial introduction to prospective parents via open houses, individual tours, and special events
ADMISSIONS WORK WITH NEW FAMILIES
- Notify parent of receipt of application
- Review and screen applications, gathering needed information from parents and counselors
- Conduct preliminary interview to screen applicants for appropriate match to St. Catherine’s curriculum and ability to integrate into St. Catherine’s culture
- Review applications with the counselors and Principal for selection decision
- Set up interview with faculty member(s), greet family at interview, and notify subject teachers and administrative staff of student visits
- Complete admissions process for every prospective student by updating entries in software and files
- Review outcomes with counselors
- Send notification of acceptance status, coordinate enrollment with Business Manager
- Develop new procedures as needed in conjunction with the leadership team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A strong commitment to Catholic education and the development of young Catholic leaders
- Understanding of Church teaching and St. John Paul II’s teaching on the feminine genius.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the admissions and records function and the administration of such function
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles and processes for delivering class-leading customer services. This includes student needs assessment, establishing quality standards and metrics for services, and the evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, staff, and the public
- Demonstrated organizational skills in handling and directing multiple and complex assignments and projects
- Skill in working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents or members of the community with discretion and tact
- High level of energy with the capacity for extraordinary time and effort demands
