Responsibilities as directed by the pastor/administrator and members of the clergy assigned to St. Mary Star of the Sea RC Parish, Brooklyn:
Office Management
• Reception and management of all phone calls and emails to parish
• Managing Mass Book including the booking of funerals, memorials, weddings & baptism and the processing of Mass intentions
• Managing the Parish Calendar including booking of all parish spaces for parish activities and the activities of the parish tenant.
• Maintain parishioner records including contact information, donation records and sacramental records/requests.
• Processing of fees and donations.
• Responsible for executing parish mailings and eblasts as needed.
• General updating of Parish website
• Parish Facebook manager
• Publisher of weekly parish bulletin
Property Management
• Site management including being the relationship manager for the parish to the tenant, contractors, electricians, plumbers, hvac, elevator, fire suppression, landscapers and any entity responsibly for the care and maintenance of the property.
• Direction of the weekday maintenance person/sacristan and any volunteer sacristans.
• Ensures the general maintenance and upkeep of the property
• Purchasing agent for the property and offices, this includes liturgical supplies as well as office and maintenance supplies.
• Weekend Sacristan Friday - Sunday including opening church, setting up for Mass, breaking down after Mass and closing church for all occasions during work hours.
Job Requirements:
• Office administration a must, Catholic church experience a plus.
• Strong computer/desktop publishing skills a must-Microsoft Office/Publisher, Email blasts, various Google products
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with property management.
• Ability to handle stress and problem solve.
• Excellent technological, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
• Bachelor's degree; Business degree preferred
