JOB SUMMARY: The Director for Intake and Medical/Somatic Services manages the clinical and administrative operations of the Intake process and staff in accordance with best practice standards of the profession, and all Agency policy and procedures. The Director of Intake and Medical/Somatic Services oversees the scheduling, screening, and completion of intake interviews with consumers, and provides counseling services (individual and group therapy) to consumers.
SUPERVISORY RESONSIBILITIES: Provides administrative and clinical supervision to 4 employees, 4 interns or volunteers, and up to 17 indirect staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee continuity of care for all consumers seeking services in the Anchor Mental Health Programs from the point of intake through discharge.
- Track all consumers as they progress or move through programs via stepping up and stepping down from services.
- Determine appropriate level of care and match services desired by the consumer.
- Directly supervise staff and independent contractors to include interviewing, hiring, coaching, disciplining, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Track and manage productivity of staff to meet revenue projections.
- Confirm staff/interns are following Credible daily routines by ensuring all services (billable and non-billable) are documented in Credibly by the next business day.
- Provide full support to department when Sr Clinical Manager is out by acting under an independent license.
- Supervise the intake process for all consumers seeking services through Anchor Mental Health (CSA) and provide appropriate referrals including Assertive Community Team (ACT) and Free-Standing Mental Health Clinic (FSMHC) coordination.
- Create and approve intake assessments, Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs), conduct initial DLA 20’s, CAFAS and PECFAS (if applicable) and administrative services within Intake.
- Follow up and manage all no-shows or cancelled appointments per regulations.
- Coordinate intake discharge summary submissions to Department of Behavioral Health for the Core Service Agency, including reviewing any related documentation from previous and current providers.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the intake process quality and quantity of intakes is being met.
- Coordinate treatment with Clinical Managers and other involved staff members regarding consumer’s progress and/or concern in counseling. 5. Provide SBIRT services to consumers at Anchor Mental Health Med/Som Clinic during the intake process.

- Conduct SBIRT services up to 12 sessions for individuals demonstrating alcohol and/or substance use, overuse, or dependency.
- Oversee therapeutic assessment and documents related to the Med/Som Clinic writing treatment plans, conducting DLA 20 assessments, suicide screenings, IRPs, etc.
- Maintain client documentation according to required policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight of budget for Intake & Counseling to include reviewing monthly financial reports and provide feedback to management.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) process.
- Meet productivity standard (minimum, 15 hours per week).
- Stay current with knowledge of the D.C. behavioral health system and any changes to policies and/or regulations to develop constructive relationships with community partners, facilitate access to appropriate services, or implement program changes, as necessary.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in social work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
- current D.C. license in specific discipline i.e., LICSW, LPC.
- Eight (8) years direct service experience in a mental health setting.
- 3 years supervisory experience.
- Experience providing counseling to adults with serious and persistent mental illness, many with co-occurring substance abuse issues and histories of trauma
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
- Clinical judgment and leadership skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office Software, web browsing, and navigation of MS Windows platform; or a willingness to be trained on developing computer skills.
