GENERAL SUMMARY:
As first point of contact, this position is primarily responsible for professionally representing St. Aloysius Catholic Church by providing excellent customer service through greeting and assisting visitors and callers to the church office and performing supportive services for parish departments that support the goals, objectives, and mission of the parish.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education, Experience & Certifications: High School Graduate or equivalent and a minimum of two years related experience required. Practicing Catholic strongly preferred. Must respect and support the Catholic identity of the Parish.
- Other Qualifications: Competent in current software being used by the parish i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher as well as other technology as it applies to the parish ministry and its available services. Demonstrates ability to provide a high level of customer service in all interactions and maintains a friendly and cooperative relation with all callers and visitors. Ability to preserve confidentiality in all interactions and at all times. Ability to exercise good judgment in handling difficult and/or sensitive situations with the pastor, staff members, parishioners and guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
1. Essential Job Duty: Receptionist Duties :: Weight: 60 %
- Maintain front desk of the Pastoral Services Center (Church Office)
- Greet parishioners and guests with a warm welcome and provide them competent service when they walk into or call our church office, whether for information or in times of need
- Answer, screen and forward incoming calls and emails, and/or take accurate messages as necessary
- Responsible for the punctual and proper opening and closing of the church office each day. This position is responsible for securing a replacement to assure coverage at the front desk during office hours
- Stay abreast of parish life through the church bulletin, website, calendar, and schedule of facilities
- Respond to inquiries about parish activities and services or direct those requests to the appropriate person or office
- Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ordering of stamps and bulk mail. Receives and distributes all fax emails and correspondence. Ensures that the phone system and voicemail is properly maintained.
- Collect and schedule Mass Intentions and notify appropriate person(s)
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access into and past the lobby
- Preserve a clean and tidy work environment
- Manage church lost and found
2. Essential Job Duty: Clerical and Administrative Duties :: Weight: 40 %
- Perform clerical receptionist duties such as keeping lists, filing, photocopying, faxing, receiving registrations and/or helping fulfill orders related to special events, faith formation, etc.
- Collaborates with the Pastor, and other staff in implementing the mission of the parish. This is accomplished by participation in the comprehensive planning, implementation, and evaluation of the parish’s programs, goals, and objectives with specific focus on the parish goal of being a welcoming, hospitable faith community.
- Responsible for Mass Intention and Altar Flower donation requests. This is accomplished by scheduling on calendar, collecting stipends, mailing Mass letters and/or cards. Collaborates with the bulletin editor. Prepares deposit and provides it to the bookkeeper.
- Provides clerical assistance for staff, to ministries, and for parish retreats and/or events as needed.
- Responsible for mailing copies of weekly bulletin to homebound parishioners.
- Responsible for scheduling staff meetings at the request of the Pastor and that meeting minutes are recorded and distributed. Coordinates occasional or holiday staff lunches.
- Maintains list of parishioners receiving the anointing of the sick.
