St. Patrick Center a ministry for Catholic Charities is hiring a Custodial Engineer/Floor Tech. This position is responsible for the completion of assigned duties related to the upkeep and cleaning of the facilities at St. Patrick Center as well as other assignments related to the agency’s mission, vision, and values. The custodial engineer/floor tech will be responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas, and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This includes removing spots from carpets, performing bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning, disposing of trash and assisting with the hazardous waste collection. The custodial engineer/floor tech will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, and will wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment. The wage range for this position is $13.00 - $18.00 an hour. The core working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
- Performs all assignments related to the Facilities Department as defined by written work orders and verbal directives from the Housekeeping Coordinator and/or other members of the leadership team
- Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (ex. dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning)
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
- Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas and other areas
- Moving furniture before and after cleaning
- Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping and waxing floors
- Measuring chemicals correctly
- Operating chemical dispensing units
- Labeling chemicals correctly
- Cleaning, maintaining and storing equipment and PPE proficiently
- Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties
- Assisting with the hazardous waste collection as requested by the supervisor
- Cooperate with rest of staff
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Meets with supervisor as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Highschool diploma aor GED or 10 years of custodial work experience require
- Ability to work independently as well as under the direction of others
- Ability to interact with all areas of the agency
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
- Associate’s degree or certification from trade school preferred
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in housekeeping
