Job Summary
The Custodial Services Assistant is directly responsible for providing custodial services for the Priest Retreat House at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament and for its guests and for providing support to PCPA hospitality and Shrine housekeeping upon request. This position is highly visible and has frequent interaction with guests of both the Monastery and the Shrine. The Custodial Services Assistant will reside in the Retreat House and the schedule will vary greatly depending on guest reservations and other factors. This is a fairly active position requiring a lot of bending, kneeling, stretching, pushing and pulling. This position requires some local travel.
Essential Duties
Responsible for routine maintenance and housekeeping of all guest rooms and common areas of the Retreat House.
Responsible for concierge services upon request of Retreat House guests.
Provides food service and support as required.
Provides Airport transportation for guests as required.
Launders and irons towels and linens as required.
Provides other guest services upon request.
Provides support for PCPA Hospitality and Housekeeping staff upon request.
Other Duties
Communicates regularly with the Manager, Custodial Services and notifies them of any non-routine maintenance and/or housekeeping needs that require additional resources.
Assists in maintaining proper levels of supplies inventory as assigned.
Assists with food purchasing and inventory as assigned.
Keeps work areas neat and clean at all times and follows all operational and safety procedures.
Schedules and facilitates upkeep and routine maintenance of fleet vehicles.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements

Good communication and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Friendly and pleasant demeanor with Guests, Pilgrims and Shrine staff.
Trained and experienced with a variety of tools.
Able to lift up to 45 lbs.
High School diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
