Saints John and Paul Catholic Parish is seeking a Director of Religious Education (DRE) . The DRE is responsible for overseeing the parish catechetical/faith formation program. This will include coordinating religious education programs, classes, & youth sacramental preparation programs. This person will report to the Pastor and will collaborate closely with the parish staff (Director of Operations, Director of Music/Liturgy, Pastoral Associate, Christian Service Coordinator, Youth Minister, Coordinator for Confirmation.)
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Providing guidance, oversight and direction to the Elementary Faith Formation Program called G.R.A.C.E.
Coordinating and providing oversight for all adult Faith Formation Programs such as ENCOUNTER*, Bible Studies, Retreats, etc.
Leading the Reconciliation/First Communion program in collaboration with the Sacramental Prep catechists
Overseeing the running of the Youth programs by collaborating with the Youth Minister and Confirmation Coordinator
Overseeing the execution of other events and programs such as Vacation Bible School, Children's Liturgy of the Word, May Crowning, Easter egg hunt, etc.

Qualifications:
Be a fully initiated and practicing Catholic, in good standing, in full communion with the Catholic Church and embracing the fullness of the teaching of the Church.
Bachelor's degree preferred in Education and/or Theological studies.
Have a Professional Catechetical Certification or willing to obtain one within 1 year.
Have a minimum of three years of experience working in Education, Parish religious education or Catholic schools.
Basic knowledge of Catholic Theology.
Ability to be self-motivated, set schedules, prioritize tasks while working collaboratively with clergy, staff, pastoral leadership, and volunteers at the parish level, as well as with Archdiocesan Offices
Have prior experience in recruiting, supervising and coaching employees or volunteers to perform to the best of their abilities
Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with technology and various communication platforms, as most of our records, payments, registrations and communications are handled electronically
Have a somewhat flexible schedule and be available to work some nights and weekends
