COORDINATOR OF FAITH FORMATION/YOUTH MINISTRY

The Coordinator of Faith Formation/Youth ministry is an integral part of the Formation team at St. Benedict Church. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about using their pastoral and organizational gifts to form Christian disciples dedicated to the Lord Jesus through prayer and service, particularly among the youth of the parish. The Coordinator helps enact the parish's vision for faith formation and evangelization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Director with planning and implementation of primary/middle school faith formation programs.
- Assist the Director with planning and implementation of Summer Religious Education Academy, with particular focus on teen volunteers.
- Organize and implement various programs for high school age youth.
- Foster the spiritual development of high school age liturgical ministers.
- Organize and implement the Middle School (Grades 6,7,8) Youth Group (CYO).
- Recruit and train adult volunteers for middle school and high school youth programs.
- Coordinate and supervise service projects, Grades 6-12.
- Work with the Coordinator of Confirmation preparation to engage candidates in middle school/high school youth programs.
- Attend Faith Formation department meetings and Parish Staff meetings.
- Coordinator must have evening and weekend availability as needed.
Applicants must meet ALL the minimum requirements for consideration:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Theology, Religious Education, Youth Ministry, or related field; or equivalent experience in a similar ministry role.
- Active Roman Catholic in good standing and sensitive to diverse experiences, backgrounds and traditions within the Catholic Church.
- Proven experience working with young people in a ministry context, with the ability to connect and build relationships with youth.
