POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead HVAC Technician will be a detail-oriented HVAC technician able to install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems. The Lead HVAC technician will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems. You will be responsible for HVAC systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance and repairs. Makes recommendations to the AVP of Operations for a collaborative decision in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of HVAC systems across campus.
To be successful in this role, customer satisfaction, safety, and service should be among your top priorities. The Lead HVAC Technician represents the College with external parties and vendors for day-to-day matters related to HVAC maintenance. Maintains the vendor database and oversees the work done by vendors and coordinates specific projects as assigned by the AVP of Operations.
Ideal candidates will have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills, must be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with employees, customers, and vendors. Must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, be able to multitask, think creatively, and troubleshoot problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HVAC Technician Responsibilities:
- Installing, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Coordinate equipment replacement with vendors when necessary.
HVAC Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
- HVAC Certification
- 5+ years experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
- Working knowledge of boiler systems.
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Provides outstanding customer service to our customers; the students, faculty, and staff of Benedictine College.
