Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our parish staff family. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning HVAC, plumbing, etc.). Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule: This is a twelve-month, full-time position. It may be expected that this position will work additional hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, to support all church needs.
Qualifications:
5 - 10 years of working experience in facilities maintenance
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented
Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
Strong character with high moral and ethical values
Physical Requirement/Environmental Conditions:
Ability to push/lift 75 pounds.
Ability to climb ladder, work from scaffold and lift up to 30 feet.
Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require.
Ability to work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
Essential Functions:
A. Paint, drywall repair, remodel, refurbish areas as needed.
B. Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities.
C. Change air filters for HVAC as required.
D. Inspect and maintain security and fire alarm systems.
E. Prepare classrooms for incoming classes; remove or rearrange furniture for events or classes as needed.
F. Change light bulbs, interior and exterior as needed. Maintain lighting fixtures in safe working condition.
G. Maintain exterior property, fountains, irrigation system, fences, and gates.
H. Assist with all special event installs/removals for Church and School.
I. Oversee daily trash removal, restocking/cleaning restrooms and storage closets. Cleaning exterior entryways, cleaning/polishing/floor maintenance.
J. Inspect roofing and gutters. Identify areas that require repairs.
K. Complete approved work orders generated by staff members.
L. Perform periodic inspection of electrical panels.
M. Pressure washing.
N. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Must pass background check and maintain compliance with Archdiocesan Safe Environment regulations.
