Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or valid Michigan teaching certificate. Master’s degree preferred
- A passion for science and a commitment to continuing education
- Faith-filled, compassionate, and understanding, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of Chemistry classes
- Design and implement comprehensive lessons that incorporate a thinking environment that promotes student autonomy for learning
- Develop assessments that meet standards and expectations
- Provide interactive labs and experiments safely that incorporate content and hands-on learning
- Monitor students’ academic progress and any discipline issues while communicating with administration, parents, and other staff, as needed
- Support and foster the religious mission of the school, including infusing the Catholic faith into the curriculum
- Establish classroom rules and procedures and be consistent with implementation
- Participate in school events and participate as a chaperone when required
- Attend meetings, staff training, conferences, and other ongoing learning programs
- Perform supervisory or other duties as assigned
