Position Summary
The Content Strategist is responsible for creating compelling web copy that meets marketing industry standards and best practices while promoting the University’s mission, values, and goals. Additionally, the content strategist will monitor web key performance indicators and adjust content strategy as needed to meet institutional objectives. Finally, the content strategist is responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with constituents across campus and outside partners
Primary Responsibilities
- Creates, updates, and maintains content on University online platforms consistent with University content strategy goals, brand standards, and compelling story telling of the FUS mission.
- Oversees and assists other departments to create new or update web pages on a consistent basis, which includes web update ticket tracking to ensure content is current and relevant to the target market; manages one student worker who assists with web updates.
- Works with web development team and digital marketing team for identifying, planning, developing, and building new web platforms to effectively communicate information that supports the institutional priorities.
- Customer Service – collaborates and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders.

Technical Skills
- Strong writing skills – StoryBrand approach preferred
- Knowledge of SEO and Inbound Marketing
- Basic understanding of user experience (UX) design
- Basic proficiency with popular content management systems and project management best practices

- Written Communications – Checks work for style, spelling, and grammar errors; ensures readability.
- Quality of Work – Consistently checks work for accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness.

Education & Experience
- B.A. in Integrated Marketing Communications; Creative Writing, Computer Science, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the University academic programs and campus life preferred
Workplace Factors
- Works in front of a computer for long periods of time
- Sits or stands in front of computer for long periods of time.
- Occasional evening and weekend work
