COORDINATOR OF CARE MINISTRY

Saints Edward & Isidore Parish is seeking to hire a new staff member as a Coordinator of Care Ministry to direct a pastoral Care Ministry program for the parish. The Coordinator of Care Ministry is called and graced by God to support the growing need for one-on-one spiritual accompaniment of parishioners. The individual is responsible for expanding, training, supporting, and scheduling care minister volunteers who provide prayer, sacrament, and a ministry of presence. This will be a part-time position of 20-30 hours per week.

Education & Experience Requirement

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience related to the compassionate pastoral care of others.
Previous experience is helpful and/or must demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn and grown in the field, develop others in pastoral ministry, and accompany those in need of the grace of Jesus.
VIRTUS Safe Environment training (initial 2 hours plus annual ongoing) required by the Diocese of Green Bay for the protection of vulnerable adults in our parishes.
Must agree to and clear a Diocesan background check prior to hire.

Position Duties

Designs and directs the care ministry for the parish in collaboration with parish staff and determines the needs of the parish community.

Invites, screens, educates, motivates, and recognizes volunteer Care Ministers, providing them with appropriate resource material and opportunities to nurture their personal and spiritual growth.

Participates directly in care ministry through hospital visits, care facility visits, and homebound visits.

Provides for regular prayer presence and Holy Communion for those in need.

Serves as a leader of prayer at communion services and care facilities.

Coordinates with the parish Priest to provide for the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Reconciliation.

Maintains a system for parish/hospital/facility communications, scheduling visitations, reporting, and accountability.

Maintains accurate, up-to-date pastoral records, including Care Minister reports, sacramental records, hospital/facility and home visit records.

Establishes and maintains a network of community referral resources that provide for those needing personal care beyond pastoral care.

Participates in ongoing formation workshops, meetings, and classes in pastoral ministry leadership for professional support and exchange.

Oversees the following related parish Helping Hands Ministries: Transportation Ministry, Meal Ministry, and Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Prepares and manages a ministry budget.
