Basic Function:
Identify and address Spanish clients/family’s needs and concerns who are dependent upon alcohol/drugs; provide assessment, crisis intervention and other services to assist our client/family in the treatment process.
Responsibilities:
- Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
- Provide chemical dependency assessment and/or treatment for Spanish clients under supervision by licensed professional, within the range of program services.
- Act as an advocate for program participants with courts, schools, treatment centers, and other services as appropriate in order to make referrals and conduct follow-ups.
- Provide individual and family counseling; engage Spanish clients and families.
- Provide outreach and case management to our Spanish population.
- Prepare written reports, timely and accurate client record documentation and summaries for consultation according to program standards and professional ethics.
- Participate in curriculum development and supervision of Spanish clients.
- Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives
Requirements:
- Combination of experience and education normally represented by a High School Diploma with 12 years relevant work experience required. Have completed 40 hours of education in chemical dependency counseling/clinical methods.
- Must speak both Spanish and English.
- Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Must have a CDCA certification.
- Must have knowledge and experience working with alcohol/drug assessment and case management.
- Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships with in the Spanish community.
- Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must possess group work skills.
- Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with a team of professional staff desirable.
