Middle School Teachers
The Archdiocese of St. Louis, in partnership with the School of Education at Saint Louis
University invites applications for Middle School Teachers. This position reports directly
to the Director of Middle School at St. Louis Catholic Academy and engages in professional
support through the Saint Louis University School of Education.
The successful candidates will have a full-time 12-month contract starting August 1, 2024,
with additional compensation for work completed prior to August 1.

Responsibilities: The successful candidates will have an opportunity to:
● Assist in the development and implementation of a rigorous, culturally responsive
curriculum.
● Implement developmentally appropriate, research-based, best in practice
instructional and classroom management strategies.
● Assist in the development of a positive school culture rooted in Catholic identity
and research-based restorative justice disciplinary practices.
● Collaborate with the middle school faculty in a professional learning community;
attend ongoing professional development workshops.
● Work with parents, caregivers, and families to ensure the academic success of their
children.
● Other duties as assigned that lead to the success of the middle school students.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required
Commitment to becoming an expert in middle-level education.
Commitment to using data to inform teaching and learning.
Willingness to continue learning and growing as an educator.
Earned Master of Arts in Teaching, Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and
Instruction, Special Education, etc., or a related field from an accredited institution;
may be working towards a such a degree.
Missouri state certification; may be working towards certification.
Demonstrated commitment to innovation and social justice.
Preferred
At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school.
Experience educating or collaborating with middle school students.
Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting assessment data for continuous
student learning.
Knowledge and capability with technologies in education.
Commitment to and experience partnering with families.
Flexibility and resiliency.
Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
Salary and Starting Date: Salary will be commensurate with experience and education
and additional compensation for professional development. The starting date is August 1,
2024, with additional compensation for work completed before August 1.
Pre-Employment Screening: Requires successful completion of a background check and
