Description:
We are looking for a Citizenship Teacher whose role is crucial in facilitating the educational development of our program participants. This individual will provide instructional services in the areas of Citizenship and The Citizenship Education Program, provide counseling, application, naturalization and advocacy services to students, as well as provide outreach, recruitment, intake, initial assessment and develop naturalization timelines for the students in the Citizenship Education program, explain Immigration and Naturalization (INS) qualifications for participation in the program, assist students in applying for U.S. Citizenship, and schedule regular appointments to monitor progress, provide counseling and promote civic preparation.
This position is 20 hours per week for 36 weeks, beginning the first week of September. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. This individual will provide instruction incorporating best practices in teaching English to speakers of other languages. The instructor must have a passion for teaching adults with the capability of engaging students of all languages, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements:
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with teaching certificate. Knowledge of adults as learners is highly recommended.
