Description
ENTITY: Mt. Olivet Cemetery was consecrated in 1892 and is located on the western side of the Denver Metro area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. It is the largest cemetery in Colorado containing 392 acres. St. Simeon Cemetery was consecrated in 2004 and is located on the eastern side of the Denver Metro area in Aurora, Colorado. The Mortuary has two locations. The first is located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery and was opened in 1981. The second was the recent acquisition of Caldwell-Kirk Mortuary. These entities serve the Catholic Community of the Denver metro area and its various parishes, missions, and apostolates and other members of the general public regardless of their religious affiliation.
THE POSITION: The Administrative Assistant to Mount Olivet Cemetery is responsible for providing administrative and clerical duties at the location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performing day to day administrative duties as required,
- Perform accurate data entry,
- Process pre-need and at-need funeral and cemetery contracts,
- Enter cash and receipts into software program,
- Maintain cemetery and mortuary daily schedules,
- File and maintain customer information,
- Provide support for reconciliation of payments, deposits, and accounts,
- Answer phones, greet customers, and visitors,
- Operate e-fax, computer, multi-line phones system, debit/credit machine and postage machine,
- Execute cemetery transfers; and,
- Any other duties as directed by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and,
- Relevant work experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to operate computer and mouse, copier/printer, and multi-line telephone,
- Ability to lift and/or move up toe 25 pounds,
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time;
- Ability to work on a computer and look at a computer screen for extended periods of time; and,
- Must be able to move around enough to pull and replace files in a variety of file cabinet types.
