POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a non-exempt position that will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the food pantry. This position works collaboratively with other positions at the program using a holistic and multidisciplinary approach for the provision of services while maintaining a respectful and supportive working environment. All duties and responsibilities must be completed in accordance with agency policy and procedures, federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, other regulatory guidelines, and tenants of the Catholic faith. The incumbent in this position demonstrates sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Duties and Responsibilities
Food Pantry Services
•Oversees daily program functions.
•Ensures all deliveries and pick-ups are scheduled and executed on time.
•Manages storage, labeling, and rotation of all food pantry inventory.
•Maintains inventory to ensure adequate levels for ongoing operations.
•Schedules and conducts food distribution events.
•Assists with consumer registration and determination of eligibility.
•Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates volunteers.
•Ensures food pantry is adequately staffed on distribution days.
•Serves as liaison between community food banks and program.
Outreach
•Regularly conducts community outreach activities.
•Recruits consumers and volunteers and solicits goods or services through community outreach.
•Networks with community resources that enhance pantry operations.
•Works collaboratively with community partners to ensure that the program is adequately staffedfor volunteers to help manage the day-to-day operations of the food pantry.
Human Resource Management
•Maintains appropriate staffing according to regulatory body requirements.
•Provides supervision, direction, and support to program staff.
•Ensures orientation and training are provided to staff.
•Provides on-going supervision to staff under the incumbent’s supervision.
•Conducts performance evaluations and/or improvement plans for all staff directly under theirdirect supervision.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance
•Maintains consumer files and electronic records as required.
•Reconciles consumer data.
•Ensures reporting to funders is completed accurately and timely.
•Completes and submits timely and accurate Unusual Incident Reports, CIP reporting and anyother required documentation.
•Responsible for following up on all incidents.
•Ensures monthly safety inspections and fire drills are conducted and reported timely.
•Monitors the compliance of safety and health precautions.
•Must be available to work beyond your regular schedule in crisis situations or if there is adeclared agency emergency.
Finance
•Controls and approves all financial transactions and allocations according to pertinent guidelinesand procedures within the approved budget.
•Maintains inventory of program assets according to pertinent guidelines
•Develops and maintains programmatic balanced budget.
Additional Duties
•Participates in all related trainings, in-services, and staff meetings as required by COA andfunding /licensing sources.
•Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Demands
•The work may require long periods of standing, walking and/or bending and some heavy lifting.
•Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs.
Educational & Experiential Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in health or social services or related field.
•One year of supervisory experience in a social work or food pantry setting.
•Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
•ServeSafe Certification/Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
•Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
