Job Description
The Spanish Educator reports to the principal and is responsible for working collaboratively to incorporate creative and enjoyable Spanish language learning activities for students to develop age-appropriate skills while strengthening positive self-esteem and an appreciation for language and culture.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The teacher is responsible for teaching PK - Grade 8 students once a week.
- Write and implement engaging Spanish lessons.
- Monitor and document student participation and progress and record grades on our student information management system.
- Provide supervision and maintain a safe physical education environment.
- Utilize positive behavior management procedures to build a respectful learning community with each class.
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
- Observe and understand students’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
- Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.
- Refer items for purchase or repair to the administration.
- Communicate with administration and faculty regularly to include and inform them of student progress in music.
- Read weekly memos and email and respond as needed to establish special schedules, maintain awareness of school initiatives, and prepare for weekly classes.
- Communicate with parents as needed.
- Duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned by the school principal.

- Build an atmosphere where students are encouraged in their spiritual and human formation to adopt Catholic values and the human virtues of integrity, honesty, maturity, and responsibility that will enable them to be successful in the future.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a teacher
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
- Ability to utilize Google Classroom and Google for Education
- Well-organized and committed
- Creative and energetic
- Strong moral values and discipline
- Work independently and collaboratively without extensive oversight
- Be able to manage schedules, multi-task, and respond to unpredictable situations with creativity and confidence
- Communicate positively and effectively with all members of the school community
- Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject with a certificate in education

- Completion of Safe Environment Training
- All required Archdiocese of Philadelphia documents.
- Observe appropriate boundaries between students/parents and teachers in communication, technology, and finances.
- Follow all safety and security protocols and procedures and report any health, safety, or security concerns to the administration immediately.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15,000.00 per year
