The position will advance the mission of the school (to form disciples of Christ through a dynamic, excellence-driven Catholic education) by engaging with students and staff directly and supporting the efforts of the Administration by fostering teams, coaches and game expectations in competition that are reflective of our Catholic identity and values.Essential Functions/Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all athletic programs/activities reflect the Catholic mission of the schoolImplement game scheduling, coordination, management and oversight of all varsity sports, including sub-varsity levels, and intramural sportsCollaborate with the Principal in the hiring, training, and separation of all coaches at West CatholicPossess a thorough understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) procedures and regulations; ensure that West Catholic is fully compliantCollaborate with GRACEAC sports programsFacilitate meetings between coaches and athletic department staffOversee communications regarding sports teams and athletesInteract in a positive and professional manner daily with students, parents, faculty and support staff at West CatholicMaintain up-to-date records of injuries and provide analysis of information to the Principal as neededWork with athletic trainer to ensure proper treatment of athlete is being adhered toMaintain a safe environment for students and spectators at athletic events (crowd control, etc.)Work with the Principal in developing and modifying the athletic budget and making recommendations for athletic programs to the President/CEOOversee the management of the spirit store and the concession standsRepresent West Catholic in meetings with other athletic directors, OK Conference, MHSAA, GRACEAC, fundraising events and all events in consultation with the PrincipalCollaborate with the Advancement Team on fundraisers that support athletics and on campaigns related to athletics and avidly support other school campaigns/initiativesWork EnvironmentIs subject to frequent interruptionsApproximately 60% of the work is performed in the school office, about 25% in the school outside of the office, and about 15% outside of the school in the community.The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Holidays and Paid Time Off benefits, student tuition discount benefit of up to 80% after 1 year of service.
