In collaboration with the After-School Program Director (ASPD), School Principal, and Vice Principal, the After School Care Assistant is responsible for the direct supervision of the school’s students after school releases. This includes A) supervising homework completion, B) supervising students during activity rotations, and C) maintaining a safe and clean after school environment for students.
After School Care Assistants are responsible for implementing the after-school program in accordance with the school’s mission statement and goals. A successful After School Care Assistant will:
- Follow the directives and requests of the ASPD
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information and behavior
- Faithfully oversee student homework time to ensure all students are focused and working
- Ensure that students are not using iPads or cell phones except with direct supervision
- Implement the daily schedule of activities planned by the ASPD
- Ensure that all students are supervised at all time
- Ensure that students are properly signed in and out of the program, and released only to authorized persons
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times with a team-player mentality
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for students and colleagues
- Show to work on time and stays until released per the master schedule or at the request of the ASPD
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
