General Position Summary: Coordinator Youth Ministry, working under the direction and authority of the DRE, is responsible for planning and executing meetings, functions and events for the middle school and high school children of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. In addition, the Coordinator of Youth Ministry is responsible for communicating diocesan policies, events, etc. to the youth of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, as well as their parents. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry creates an environment by which youth can explore their faith.
Principal Accountabilities: Planning and preparing middle school and high school functions weekly. Reviews and complies with diocesan guidelines and policies as set forth by diocesan bishop, pastor, and the Department of Evangelization and Catechesis.
Travel Requirements: Rarely (1-3 times a year)
Education And Experience Preferred
Required high school diploma
Preferred (bachelor’s degree in sacred theology or Catechetics) with 1-3 years of experience
Knowledge And Skills Preferred
Knowledge of the Catholic Church, the celebration of the Sacraments, moral life of the Church, devotionals, etc.
Knowledge of office practices, record keeping and file maintenance
Skill in strategic planning and organization
Skills in public speaking
Skill in writing and editing various documents
Working Conditions And/or Physical Requirements
This position works in a typical office environment, on stage in front of youth and other locations off site but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding youth and family needs, deadlines, and moderate workload.
