Job SummaryThe Strength and Conditioning coach is directly responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the athletic departments strength program, supporting the athletic development of our student-athletes within the schools mission of forming Disciples of Christ through a dynamic, excellence-driven Catholic education. The Strength and Conditioning coach will strive to help each individual achieve a higher value of discipline, teamwork, good sportsmanship, academic achievement and self-esteem.Major Responsibilities and DutiesThe following statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job: Serve as a positive role model for students, coaching staff and the community while upholding the values of the Catholic faithDesign, implement and oversee a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all athletic teams, adhering to sound scientific principlesDevelop and deliver strength training sessions for any student, promoting lifelong fitness habitsInstruct athletes on proper lifting techniques, safety protocols and injury prevention strategiesEstablishes performance criteria for the weight room and evaluates students athletic abilities on a regular basisMaintains a safe and positive training environment, fostering teamwork and respect among athletesOversee the weight room and equipment, ensuring proper use and upkeep of equipmentCommunicate effectively with parents, athletic trainers and school administration, maintaining cooperative working relationshipsFollows the set fundraising policies and procedures set by the development officeCultivates relationships with current and prospective studentsUnderstands and maintains the standards of the West Catholic Athletic HandbookAttends, participates and promotes West Catholic athletic eventsPotential to co-teach strength classes during the school day
